Scott McGuire

Head Coach

Coach Scott McGuire is coming into his 9th season as the head coach for the Hawks. Coach McGuire graduated from Prairie Central, where he ran at the IHSA state finals in 1998(170th), 1999(56th), and 2001(39th). In 1998 the Hawks placed 3rd in state and in 1999 they placed 11th. His career best time of 15:58 currently ranks 6th All-Time for Prairie Central. He was voted MVP on the team his Junior and Senior years. He was also a 3-time All-Conference runner in the Cornbelt Conference, as well as an All-Conference basketball and baseball player.

Coach McGuire graduated from Eureka College in 2006 with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. He later received his Master's Degree from St. Xavier University in Teaching & Leadership in 2012.

While coaching cross country at Prairie Central, Coach McGuire has led the girls team to eight straight sectional appearances, while capturing their first ever regional title in 2017. He has led the boys to seven straight sectional appearances.  He has also had a state qualifier six out of his eight years as coach. 

As well as coaching cross country, coach McGuire teaches 5th grade at the Upper Elementary in Forrest. He resides in Fairbury with his wife, Ashley, and daughters Harper(6), and Everly(3).
